Unfortunately, the Yealink phones have a feature called Power Saving Mode. When the phone is in Power Saving Mode, it flashes the red light in order to keep you from thinking the phone was dead. Most of us, however, see the red flashing light and think it means we have a missed call or voicemail. Because of this confusion, we deactivate power saving mode by default.
However ...
Some models of the Yealink phones have a defect in their firmware that activates the power saving mode, even though we have it deactivated by default. We have reported this issue to Yealink and it will be fixed in the next Firmware upgrade. They did not give us an estimate on when that will be.
